Kindermusik® Musicians Classes

Ages: 4.5 - 7yrs | Child Independent | A Two Year Journey

Where Your Child Becomes a Real Little Musician

This is the one they've been growing toward.

In Musicians, your child steps into their first true music class — reading notes, playing real instruments like the glockenspiel, and performing in showcases — while still moving, singing, and having a blast. It's a drop-off class run like a joyful group lesson, and for many of our families it's the capstone of a years-long Kindermusik journey that ends in a real graduation.

Whether your child has been with us since they were a baby or is just discovering us now, this is where music becomes something they can read, play, and call their own.

This Class Is Just Right For You If…

You've got a child who loves music and is ready for their first real "big kid" music class

You want to know how they're growing, even when you're not in the room

Their First Real Music Class — Still Full of Play

By four-and-a-half or five, your child is ready for something new: not just experiencing music, but understanding it. Musicians is where that clicks. Over two years and four semesters, your child will learn to read and write notation, keep a steady beat on real instruments, recognize musical patterns, and put it all together — building one week to the next, just like a real course of study.

But this is still Kindermusik. There's plenty of moving, singing, and laughing, because this age learns best on its feet. The difference is that all that play is now building genuine musical literacy — the kind of focus, memory, and skill-stacking that also strengthens the brain for reading, math, and school.

Across the Musicians years, your child is building:

Real music literacy — reading and writing notation

And here's what makes music classes for kids in Dublin, OH feel different:

Our teachers are trained to notice how each child is growing — and to bring it back to you, in a word at pickup, a note home, or up on the showcase stage. Because helping you understand what your child is learning, and why it matters, is part of how we teach — not just something that happens when you're watching.

It still looks like play — and it is.

But every activity is intentionally sequenced, drawn from an award-winning Kindermusik curriculum that turns joyful movement into real musical skill.

Two Showcases a Year — and a Graduation at the End

Twice each year — mid-session and at the end — your child gets to do something wonderful: show you what they've learned.

Our showcases aren't high-pressure recitals. They're warm, encouraging moments where children share their growing skills with the people who love them most, and walk away a little taller for it. It's where a parent gets to watch months of "I learned a new note today!" come together into something they can see and hear.

And because Musicians is a two-year journey, there's a real finish line: at the end, your child graduates from Kindermusik — a milestone years in the making, and one we celebrate with all the pride it deserves.

A Two-Year Journey: Year 1 and Year 2

Musicians unfolds over two wonderful years, and the second builds right on the first.

In Year 1, your child finds their footing — reading their first notes, keeping a steady beat, and making music on the glockenspiel, all while moving, singing, and playing.

In Year 2, it grows. Your child adds new instruments — the dulcimer and recorder alongside the glockenspiel — and the class leans further into real musicianship, feeling more and more like a true lesson as their skills deepen. By the end, they've spent two years building genuine literacy and confidence — and they cross the finish line as a Kindermusik graduate.

Most children flow naturally from one year into the next, and you don't need to map it all out now. Whether your child is just beginning or continuing on, your teacher will guide you to exactly the right place in the journey.

You'll Leave the Showcase Seeing More

You won't be in the room each week — but you'll never be out of the loop. Most places tell you how the group did. Here, you'll hear something about your child, and what it means.

Instead of "She did great today!" you might hear:

"Did you notice she found the steady beat all on her own today, and kept it even when the rhythm got tricky? A few months ago she was still watching the others to keep time. That's real musical independence — and the same focus that's going to serve her in school."

These are the moments our teachers are trained to catch and bring back to you. It's the difference between signing your child up for a class and trusting them to a place where you both feel known.
