Each month, a new Kindermusik unit brings fresh songs, stories, and playful routines into our classrooms—each one lovingly designed to support your child’s development in joyful, age-appropriate ways.
Here’s a peek at what your child will be learning in August, grouped by class level. Whether you’re in your first class or your fifth year, every child will feel seen, engaged, and celebrated as they grow through music. 💜
Foundations
Unit: Busy Days
Theme/Focus: Building your baby’s social and emotional world
Key Skills:
Recognizing emotions
Building trust and secure attachment
Strengthening early parent-child bonding
What’s New This Unit:
Babies will explore intentional touch, musical cues, and gentle routines that promote safety and connection. These early experiences help babies feel secure, supported, and ready to explore the world with confidence.
Level 1
Unit: On the Town with Bear
Theme/Focus: Learning through music and its role in cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development
Key Skills:
Recognizing musical patterns
Keeping a steady beat
Exploring spatial concepts and body movement
What’s New This Unit:
Toddlers will take a playful trip “around town” with Bear! Through pretend play, lap bounces, instrument exploration, and movement games, children will grow their self-regulation, fine and gross motor skills, and social-emotional awareness.
Level 2
Unit: Rhyme Around Town
Theme/Focus: Building early literacy and exploring rhythms through movement and play
Key Skills:
Recognizing rhymes and musical patterns
Exploring steady beat and lap bounce rhythms
Strengthening gross motor coordination
What’s New This Unit:
Preschoolers will tap, bounce, and move through familiar rhymes, helping them build language skills and rhythm awareness. Children will also explore tempo, timbre, and social-emotional concepts through group play and engaging routines.
Level 3
Unit: Out & About
Theme/Focus: Imagination and creative movement inspired by everyday adventures
Key Skills:
Gross motor coordination
Sequencing and problem-solving
Creative self-expression
What’s New This Unit:
Through pretend adventures and movement games, your child will explore confidence-building challenges and teamwork activities. They’ll move their bodies, express ideas through music, and take part in ensemble-style fun—all while developing coordination and creativity.
