Kindermusik is one of the most joyful things you will ever do with your child.
You’ve been searching for a class to attend with your child where you watch them learn and grow right before your very eyes. Look no further. Kindermusik provides parents and caregivers the opportunity to experience learning and growth in a fun, enriching, and musical environment.
Music & Movement in our Community
With more than 35 years of experience as the leader in musical learning, Kindermusik International understands music’s unique ability to impact children (and families!) in profound ways. Parents also appreciate how enrollment in Kindermusik includes home materials, including their favorite songs, stories, and learning activities from class, so families can “play” Kindermusik wherever they go.
A Nurturing Environment
Our classes welcome every child and family with a warm smile. Each child is supported and encouraged to help foster their development in the best way possible. They interact with other peers and engage in movement, rhythm, and vocal activities that develop far more than just music skills.
Creating a Community
Kindermusik is more than a weekly class. It’s a community of similar minded families who all share a common goal - creating the best start for your child.
Celebrating the Individual
Each child is unique and develops at their own pace. We celebrate the uniqueness of every child and support each learner at their own level.
Curiosity & Joy
Children are learning and growing at a rapid rate from the time they arrive until they reach school age. Our approach to early childhood education primes children for success in school and in life.
Providing Parent Support & Education
Kindermusik classes are not only for the children, but also an opportunity for parents to receive education and support when it comes to your child’s growth and development. Families learn fun songs to sing throughout the day encouraging bonding and offering further support for social-emotional development.
Engaging Every Learner
Kindermusik is designed to connect with every child’s unique learning style. The study, practice, and discipline of making music gives the brain and body a complete workout. Activities are designed to encourage multisensory learning, which employs and integrates several senses at once, stimulating multiple areas of the brain.
Meet Miss Emily
From Miss Emily: "As a trained and licensed local Kindermusik educator, I love bringing the world of Kindermusik to our community. Each week in my Kindermusik studio, I lead music classes for families filled with singing, dancing, laughing, instrument playing, and storytelling—all backed by Kindermusik International’s team of early childhood music experts and the latest research on how children learn best. In addition, I partner with parents to support their role as a child’s first and best teacher by providing tools, tips, and resources to understand how (and why!) to use music and movement throughout the week. From Kindermusik’s early childhood music classes around the world to the loving local community of families at my studio, together we put a song in the hearts of children."
Miss Emily grew up in Northeast Ohio in what you might call the Partridge Family. (No choreographed moves, though!) She begged for piano lessons at an early age after watching, listening, and singing along to her dad play. After years of piano, she added clarinet and saxophone to her repertoire. Over the course of her childhood she has spent numerous hours practicing and performing for a number of different occasions as well as just for fun.
When Miss Emily got to college she knew absolutely she would become a teacher. If music was her first passion, working with young children was a close second. She graduated with honors from The University of Akron with a BS in Early Childhood Education. While working towards her degree she worked at the Center for Child Development on UA's campus, and taught Kindermusik on the side for her childhood piano teacher.
Once Miss Emily obtained her Bachelor's she was fortunate to find a teaching position in Canton, OH. While she taught she attended classes working towards her Master's in Education. After several years of teaching, a move to Virginia, and once she graduated with her Master's in Education Emily left the classroom to work for a prestigious and well known camp company that offered technology education to kids. This allowed her to travel and to work in education from a different perspective. During this time she also returned to teaching Kindermusik. That sparked her return to teaching!
Missing the classroom and working with children, Miss Emily finally returned to both her passions, music and working with children. She decided to open her very own Kindermusik studio in 2017, and started holding classes in the beginning of 2018. She is now living with her husband in Columbus, OH and is extremely fortunate to be able to share the benefits of music with families in the great Columbus area. When not in the classroom, she can be found running, working out at Orange Theory, or cheering for the Buckeyes. She and her husband are avid travelers. She also still finds calm and enjoyment sitting down at the piano!
